3 months

In honor of Meg's three month birthday, I'm posting a video of her. A little background first... about two weeks ago, Jake made his first big purchase with money that he's been saving up slowly but surely for almost a year now. He bought himself a digital camera. He got an amazing deal, spending about a quarter of what we paid five years ago for a camera of significantly better quality. (Ah, technology!) Since the camera arrived, we've been subject to countless surprise photo ops and video shootings without our knowing. Good times, let me tell you. A camera in the hands of a 12 year old boy is weapon to be reckoned with. Thankfully, his older sister loves being on camera, so she's a good sport, and the little girls can't get enough of watching themselves. All in all, it's been fun.

A couple days ago I was playing with Meg on the sofa and Jake ran to get his camera so he could save some of her smiles and giggles for posterity. The result is this two minute video of Meg. I sound like an idiot in the background, but what mom won't make a fool of herself to see her baby smile?

(I'm not necessarily recommending this for those of you who see Meg on a regular basis, because it's nothing out of the ordinary and it's LONG. But for those of my family and friends who are further away and interested - hi, Grandma! hello, Aunt Carolyn! - this one's for you!)

Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Thankful

Thankful. You'd better believe I am, for all that I didn't post it a week ago on the day we officially celebrate it! Nathaniel and I are blessed beyond our wildest dreams...

...with a wonderful, loving marriage now in it's 9th year.

...with a house full of healthy, beautiful children.

...with our newest baby, at not yet three months, regularly sleeping from 8:30pm till 6:00am, and hardly crying during the days (never have I imagined a baby could be this easy, though I'm sure she'll make up for it when she's 3, or definitely by the time she's 13).

...with friends and family who offer us the support and assistance we need, even before we ask for it.

...with a warm, secure home, an abundance of clothes and food, and a million other blessings that we take for granted every day.

On Thanksgiving, after attending mass to thank God for the myriad things we forget to thank him for in our daily prayers, we asked Nathaniel's brother, Sam, to help us attempt a family photo. Those of you who receive our Christmas card will see our chosen shot in a couple weeks (if I manage to get them in the mail before Christmas this year), but here's the last photo taken, when the kids couldn't hold in their goofiness any longer. I think I'll make it my new profile picture.
