She walks!

Today, Meg is 13 months old. Whenever people ask how old my kids were when they learned to walk, I say that Ruth was around 11 months, and Marianne was closer to 13. It seems that despite all her similarities to Ruth in physical appearance, Marianne wins this "she's most like me" comparison this time around.

Feel free to listen without sound, so you don't have to hear me cheering Meg on, or the background music courtesy of PollyPocket.com, which the "big girls" were playing a few feet away.

Sadly, Nathaniel is out of town most of this week (since about 15 hours after I arrived home on Monday), so he's having to see this for the first time via the blog as well. I did call and let him know in advance, and also to verify that she hadn't been walking all weekend and he'd just failed to inform me.

{sigh} There's no longer a baby in the house. Now all we have are toddlers and preschoolers and school kids. Oh my!
